Pick a registrar above to see the exact steps.
Squarespace
- Sign in at account.squarespace.com.
- Open the Domains panel and click the domain you want to move.
- Click Transfer settings, then turn off Transfer lock.
- Click Get authorization code. Squarespace shows the code on the page (or emails it to you).
- Paste the code into the form below.
Squarespace acquired Google Domains in 2023. If your domain was at Google Domains before, it's at Squarespace now.
GoDaddy
- Sign in at godaddy.com, click your account icon, then My Products.
- Find your domain under Domains and click the gear icon next to it.
- Click Domain Lock and turn it off.
- If Domain Privacy is on, turn it off too. Most transfers require privacy to be off temporarily.
- Back in the gear menu, click Transfer Out. GoDaddy emails you an authorization code.
- Paste the code into the form below.
Google Domains (now Squarespace Domains)
- Your domain has likely already been moved to Squarespace. Check at account.squarespace.com first.
- If it's still at the Google interface, sign in at domains.google.com.
- Click your domain, then Registration settings.
- Turn off Domain lock.
- Click Get authorization code.
- Paste the code into the form below.
If your domain is at Squarespace now, use the Squarespace steps above instead.
Namecheap
- Sign in at namecheap.com.
- Open Domain List from the sidebar and click Manage next to your domain.
- Open the Sharing & Transfer tab.
- Turn off Registrar-Lock.
- Click Auth Code. Namecheap emails you the code.
- Paste the code into the form below.
Bluehost
- Sign in at my.bluehost.com.
- Open Domains from the sidebar.
- Click the domain, then open the Transfer tab.
- Turn off the Registrar Lock.
- Click Get Auth Code. Bluehost emails you the code.
- Paste the code into the form below.
Hostinger
- Sign in at hpanel.hostinger.com.
- Click Domains in the top menu, then click Manage next to your domain. This opens the Domain Overview page, where every step below lives.
- Scroll to Transfer lock and switch it off.
- If Privacy protection is on, switch it off too. Most transfers need it off temporarily. We turn it back on after.
- Find the Authorization code on the same page and click the eye icon to reveal it. Copy it exactly (it's case-sensitive).
- Paste the code into the form below.
Everything you need is on the one Domain Overview page, so you won't have to go hunting. Note: a domain registered less than 60 days ago can't be transferred yet. That's a registrar rule, not ours.
Hover
- Sign in at hover.com and open Your domains.
- Click the domain, then open the Transfer tab.
- Click Unlock domain.
- Click Get authorization code. Hover emails it to you.
- Paste the code into the form below.
Network Solutions / Web.com
- Sign in at networksolutions.com.
- Open My Account → Manage Account → Domains.
- Click your domain, then Domain protection. Turn off the lock.
- Open Transfer authorization and request the auth code. They mail it within 4 days.
- Paste the code into the form below.
Network Solutions can be slow with auth codes. If you don't see one within 24 hours, call their support and ask them to send it directly.
IONOS (formerly 1&1)
- Sign in at ionos.com.
- Click Menu → Domains & SSL.
- Click your domain, then open the Adjust settings menu.
- Turn off the Transfer lock.
- Request the Auth code. IONOS emails it within an hour.
- Paste the code into the form below.
Cloudflare
- Sign in at dash.cloudflare.com.
- Open the domain and go to the Registration tab.
- Click Transfer on the left, then Transfer out.
- Turn off the Transfer lock.
- Click Get authorization code.
- Paste the code into the form below.
If your domain is already at Cloudflare, we may not need to transfer at all. Submit the form and we'll let you know.
Webador
Webador only shows a self-serve Transfer button after you cancel your plan. To move your domain while your site stays up, get the code from their support chat:
- Sign in at webador.com and open your site.
- Click the blue Webby chat bubble at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tell Webby: "I want to transfer my domain (your domain) to another provider. Please send me the transfer code."
- Webador sends you the transfer code (your auth / EPP code).
- Paste the code into the form below.
Already canceling your Webador plan? Then you can self-serve instead: cancel the plan first, then click the Webador logo in the Editor, go to My subscription, click Manage Domains, and click the Transfer button next to your domain to get the code. Two things to know either way: any Webador email mailbox on this domain stops working once the domain moves, so save what you need first; and a .com/.net/.org/.info/.biz can't transfer until it's more than 60 days old (an ICANN rule, not ours). If your domain ends in .co.uk or .uk, there's no code: tell us and we'll give you an IPS tag to enter under My subscription > Transfer instead.
Other registrar
Tell us where it's registered in the box above and submit the form. We'll send you registrar-specific steps within one business day.
The high-level pattern is the same everywhere: Domain settings → Disable transfer lock → Request authorization code → Send it to us.
Not sure where it's registered
No problem. Submit the form and we'll do a lookup on our end. We'll email you back within one business day with the exact steps for your registrar.
If you want to check yourself, run a free WHOIS lookup at lookup.icann.org and look for the "Registrar" field.
